Senior BESS Engineer

Aurecon is seeking a highly skilled Senior BESS Engineer to join our Sydney Energy team. As a Senior BESS Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects, including battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of BESS systems, ensuring compliance with Australian engineering codes and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and to budget.
  • Develop and review electrical calculations, drawings, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on BESS systems.
  • Chartered engineer or working towards chartership.
  • Proven experience as an Owner's Engineer, with expertise in system studies, REZ studies, and detail design.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical design software packages and Australian engineering codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
