About the Role

The Sydney Retail Business Growth Specialist position within Amazon Commercial Services Pty Ltd offers a unique opportunity for ambitious and enthusiastic students to gain hands-on experience working in our retail teams. Our team focuses on helping vendors optimize their business and drive growth on Amazon.com.au.

As a member of our team, you will work closely with Brand Specialists, learning about major functional areas such as Vendor Management, In-stock management, and content management. You will also have the chance to own and deliver impactful projects that contribute significantly to our e-commerce retail business.

About the Team

The Brand Specialists Amazon Vendor Services (AVS) team works directly with strategic e-commerce vendors to drive business growth and maximize their potential on Amazon. We focus on developing the customer experience by collaborating with brand partners and internal retail functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will work alongside Brand Specialists to learn about their roles and gain exposure to various aspects of our business, including vendor management, in-stock management, and content management.
  • You will own and deliver a project that has a significant impact on our e-commerce retail business, which may include revamping processes, analyzing data, or creating pitch materials.
  • You will work across various categories, learning how Amazon manages and grows its e-commerce retail business, and develop your analytical and problem-solving skills.

A Day in the Life

Your time will be split among three key areas:

1. Delivering an impactful project: You will be responsible for delivering a strategically important project for Australia, supported by a Mentor, Buddy, and Manager.

2. Experiencing the Brand Specialist role: This could include creating Joint Business Plans with Vendors, identifying strategies to drive new selection, marketing management, price promotions, operational efficiencies, and reporting analysis.

3. Learning and development: You will engage in a calendar of events designed to develop transferable skills, understand Amazon's culture, and network with Business leaders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must be in the penultimate year of their degree from any discipline.
  • Strong analytical, relationship management, and organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to identify problems and create solutions is essential.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships are necessary.
  • Drive to deliver results in an ambiguous environment is crucial.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Some work experience, whether through placement years, internships, or part-time non-related work, is preferred.
  • Experience in data analysis, confident manipulating data to identify trends and areas for new business growth, is beneficial.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is around $AUD 65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
