At Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service, we are seeking a talented Nursing Director to join our team.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to lead our workforce and make a real impact on the lives of individuals in Regional Queensland.

About the Role

The Nursing Director Workforce will be responsible for operational and professional leadership, management, and delivery of nursing services within our health service.

You will also be accountable at an expert professional and leadership level for the delivery of high-quality, evidence-informed nursing standards within our health service.

  • Advanced knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and standards across a range of nursing and midwifery services.
  • Demonstrated ongoing professional development of self and others, with relevant postgraduate leadership and management qualifications highly desirable.
  • Effective advanced-level leadership, management, and organisational skills, including comprehensive analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to negotiate, influence, and gain support from appropriate people to reach patient care-focused solutions and organisational outcomes.
  • Manage change and support all team members through the implementation of change initiatives.
  • Expert knowledge of contemporary HR practices.
  • Human, financial, and material resource management skills.
  • Expert political astuteness, integrity, and ability to write professional documents such as briefs, business cases, procedures, and executive reports.
  • Extensive knowledge in the application of relevant legislation, National and State standards, and direction, in the provision of nursing services.
What You'll Need
  • Mandatory possession of a nursing qualification from a registered tertiary institution or completion of an approved hospital training program as a Registered Nurse and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate.
  • Possession of context-specific postgraduate qualification in nursing is highly desirable.
