About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team in Brisbane, Perth, Berrimah, Lilydale, Smithfield, Sydney, and Welshpool. As a key member of our ANZ L&I team, you will provide thought leadership and support for commercial contracts, compliance, and governance activities.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to implement company strategies and initiatives in a risk-aware manner.
- Develop awareness of legal issues and their implications across all areas of the business.
- Draft, review, negotiate, interpret, and advise on legal documents in collaboration with the business.
- Advise on claims liability, legal rights, and obligations in disputes and litigation matters.
- Anticipate and identify relevant legislative and compliance changes and provide advice to the business.
Your Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws and Admission (or eligibility for Admission) to the Supreme Court of New South Wales (or another Australian jurisdiction).
- At least 5 years post-qualification experience in commercial law.
- Strong understanding of AU/NZ commercial contracts and current market positions.
- Experience working in resources, renewables, power, or utilities is desirable.
