Community Legal Service Solicitor Position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated solicitor to join our team.

This is a permanent full-time or part-time position that offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community.

As a solicitor with the Community Legal Service, you will provide high-quality legal services to clients across multiple locations in the Moreton Bay and greater North Brisbane area.

You will work closely with a team of solicitors to provide free legal advice, information, and referrals, as well as community legal education for vulnerable people facing disadvantage.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of community law and be able to convey complex legal information in a manner appropriate to the client group.

They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and information to clients
  • Participate in the development of operational work plans and procedures
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members
  • Review draft communications and manage reporting requirements

Requirements:

  • Current unsupervised QLS Practicing Certificate
  • At least 5 years' experience as a solicitor
  • Domestic and Family Violence Duty Lawyer Accreditation or willingness to undertake training
  • Qualified Mediator/Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner or willingness to undertake training
