
Music Industry Project Development Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated project coordinator to support the growth of live music activity in grassroots communities across Australia.
The successful candidate will work closely with local stakeholders, councils, and the Live and Local Manager to deliver a sustainable long-term model for the program. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading communication and council engagement
- Participating in EOI briefing processes
- Communicating with applicants and councils
- Executing funding agreements and processing invoices from participating councils
- Attending regular working group meetings with the Program Manager
Additionally, the coordinator will collaborate with councils and local stakeholders on program timelines, key dates, and project deliverables. They will also provide support to councils to lead and deliver key program objectives.
Key qualifications and skills include:
- 3+ years of experience in project management, live music events, and government relations
- Experience and/or interest in live music advocacy and government regulation and strategic policy development
- Ability to plan, deliver, and report on all aspects of the Live and Local project
- Experience with coordinating multiple project partners, stakeholders, budgets, and timelines
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of live music principles including artist touring, booking, venue development, production knowledge, regulatory experience, marketing, and social media
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, social media platforms, Zoom, and/or Microsoft Teams. Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills required.
