Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximise trading portfolio performance by responding to market signals and operational events.
  • Support and implement short-term trading strategies across electricity and gas markets.
  • Collaborate with generation asset teams to achieve efficient operations.
  • Provide optimisation support to the duty trader during day shifts.
  • Participate in a rotating shift roster to ensure 24/7 market coverage.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Economics, Finance, Commerce or Mathematics.
  • Knowledge of energy trading, operations, or portfolio management.
  • Interest in understanding physical spot markets and energy market mechanisms—preferably within the Australian context.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of energy trading platforms.
