About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of climate adaptation, working with a leading research group at the University of Melbourne. As part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to innovative solutions that connect climate science with practical needs. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting applied research and analysis on climate adaptation, environmental systems modelling, and participatory planning.
  • Collaborating with program partners and team members to advance research outcomes and contribute to project management.
  • Assisting in preparing manuscripts for publication and presenting research findings at relevant forums.
  • Engaging in outreach activities and fostering external partnerships to strengthen collaborative efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in hydrology, environmental engineering, or a related field, strong project management skills, and experience in numerical modelling or data analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential, with a track record of working in multidisciplinary teams and producing high-quality publications. In return, you can expect a competitive salary of approximately $120,000 AUD per annum, generous leave provisions, and opportunities for professional growth.
