Job Description

The Department for Energy and Mining is seeking a skilled Energy Transition Leader to drive the delivery of a transformative initiative. This project aims to reduce barriers to unlock access to solar, battery, and energy-sharing technologies for lower-income households living in strata title accommodation.

As Energy Transition Leader, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, delivery, and evaluation of this strategic initiative, ensuring quality outcomes are achieved on time and within budget.

You will oversee governance, compliance, and reporting in alignment with DEM's framework, while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to achieve program outcomes.

Key responsibilities include leading development and implementation of the Shared Energy Storage Program, monitoring project progress, managing risks, and ensuring timely delivery of key milestones.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Desirable: A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Planning, or similar discipline.

  • Proven experience in project planning, governance, and reporting.
  • Strong procurement and contract management skills.
  • Ability to manage resources, budgets, and risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate risks and opportunities and recommend solutions.
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to lead in complex environments.

Qualifications

ASO7 salary range $108,109 - $116,864 per annum + superannuation.

Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week.

This is a contract/term vacancy up to 30/9/2027.

The role will involve travel (primarily intra-state).

Out of hours work may be required.
