Coulson Aviation Australia is a leading provider of aerial firefighting services in Australia, operating a diverse fleet of aircraft and supporting emergency service organizations across the country.

We are currently recruiting highly skilled Heavy Aerial Firefighting Pilots to join our team in Bankstown, NSW. As a Heavy Aerial Firefighting Pilot with Coulson Aviation Australia, you will play a critical role in conducting aerial firefighting and flood response operations, crew/equipment transport, reconnaissance, search and rescue, disaster mitigation, and related tasks in support of emergency services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety and customer service, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills. You will work in a fast-paced environment, often away from home base at short notice, but enjoy a competitive salary and emphasis on work/life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Pilot in Command of Bell 412EP helicopter in firefighting operations and other missions as required by the company
  • Conduct air transport and aerial work operations such as Aerial Fire Suppression, Dispensing operations, External load, winching personnel, Intel, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR), Search and Rescue, and other specialist operations
  • Be able to work on a roster away from home base for extended periods at a time
  • Maintain written and computerized flight logs and records
  • Ensure all flights, operations, and other work follow CASA Regulations, Company Manuals, policies, and client SOPs and are achieved safely, effectively, and efficiently

Requirements:

  • Australian CPL(H) license
  • 3000 hours of rotary experience
  • Australian Class 1 Medical
  • HUET certification
  • CRM certification
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness
  • Low Level Firefighting rating
  • Low Level Sling Load Rating
  • Low Level Winch Rating
  • Minimum 3 years and 500 hours of experience in remote area and unimproved landing area operations
  • Minimum 3 years and 500 hours of background in Part 138 Aerial work operations including firefighting and/or external load operations
  • The right to live and work in Australia
