Job Title

The position of Lead Paint/Roto Artist requires a skilled professional who can effectively manage the paint/roto team, ensuring timely delivery of elements and serving as liaison between Production and the crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend critical meetings with Producers, CG Supervisors, and Production Managers to discuss project progress and objectives.
  • Regularly review Dailies and follow up with team members regarding their notes and fixes.
  • Participate in Production meetings to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Assign shots to artists based on expertise and workload.
  • Provide clear direction and priorities to the team.
  • Monitor shot and sequence progress, identifying potential roadblocks and implementing solutions.
  • Motivate and empower the team to meet deadlines by fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Conduct quality control checks on delivered elements to ensure they meet compositors' requirements.
  • Perform complex paint/roto tasks efficiently when needed or feasible.
  • Assist in interviewing and reviewing candidates for potential positions within the team.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to less experienced artists to support their growth and development.
