
Supervisor of Community Centres

The Community Centre Supervisor will play a leadership role in maintaining a respectful and non-judgmental atmosphere while ensuring the support and security of staff, volunteers and family members. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and be able to effectively coach, guide and manage staff.
The Community Centre Supervisor will assist the Manager and Director with the daily operations of the centre by directly supervising staff and volunteers; covering breaks and working as float as needed. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work productively and collaboratively with the Management Team, other departments, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example to maintain a positive and professional representation of the centre in all interactions with family members, staff/co-workers, and community partners/outside agencies
- Ensure effective coaching, guidance, and management of staff including conducting regular individual supervision meetings, overseeing skill development, and educating about referrals/processes
- Assist the Manager and Director with the daily operations of the centre by directly supervising staff and volunteers; covering breaks and working as float as needed
- Communicate and work productively and collaboratively with the Management Team, other departments, and community partners to ensure seamless and effective service delivery
- Provide direct line support to family members when required; complete referrals, service restriction follow ups, and assist with de-escalations
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Collective Agreement and how it functions for the centre staff
- Keep facility in a clean and tidy state at all times
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma in a related social services field is preferred
- Certificate or equivalent in Trauma Informed Practices is an asset
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the community social services sector in a senior supervisory role
- OR an equivalent of education, training, and experience
Working Conditions and Compensation:
- Shifts: Full Time (37.5 hours/week), Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm
- Compensation: Competitive salary range
- Benefits: Vacation accrued at a rate of 6% and comprehensive benefits package
