About the Role

This position involves working with individuals who require support to manage challenging behaviors, improving their overall quality of life and enhancing their skills.

As a Behavior Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments to identify triggers and develop strategies to improve behavior outcomes. You will also create and implement Behaviour Support Plans, providing guidance and support to families and caregivers.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management and organizational skills, with a proactive attitude and genuine passion for working in the disability sector. A degree-level qualification in an allied health profession and relevant experience working with challenging behaviors are highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand behavior triggers and develop effective strategies
  • Create and implement Behaviour Support Plans, providing ongoing support to families and caregivers
  • Manage a caseload, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary
  • Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies using a positive behavior support framework
  • Ensure individual plans reflect participants' goals, passions, and strengths
Requirements
  • Current suitability as a BSP - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
  • Degree-level qualification in an allied health profession (Social Work, OT, Speech, Psychology degrees preferred)
  • 1-2 years of experience working with challenging behaviors in mental health or disability support
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
