About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Finance professional to join our team at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA. As a key member of our Corporate Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Regional Head of Corporate Finance – Asia Pacific, to build out the Corporate Finance business in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Origination and Deal Execution: Originate new business opportunities and execute M&A and Equity Private Placement transactions in the Energy Transition sector, covering Asia Pacific with a key focus on Australia.
  • Leadership and Coordination: Hold a key leadership/coordination role in the transaction execution process on a day-to-day basis, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Financial Modelling and Analysis: Perform financial modelling, including valuation and pricing analyses, to support deal execution and client engagement.
  • Presentation and Communication: Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations, pitchbooks, and marketing materials to clients and stakeholders.
  • Business Development and Client Relationships: Drive the initiation of new client relationships and expand the business franchise across industries, leveraging market intelligence and industry knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration and Development: Work collaboratively with other team members and colleagues from the financing business lines, providing guidance and development opportunities for junior team members.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in M&A or Investment Banking.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of M&A transactions, modelling, and analytics, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships, with excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
