About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at VMCH. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their daily needs are met through professional and collaborative practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional patient care, prioritizing their physical, emotional, and social well-being
  • Supervise and mentor Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to ensure they are empowered to provide optimal care
  • Assess residents' needs and develop personalized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, adhering to relevant legislation and standards
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication

Requirements

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant qualification and experience
  • Experience in assessing aged care residents and developing care plans
  • Strong understanding of Commonwealth, State, and Territory legislation, as well as nursing practices
  • 1-2 years of experience as an RN is preferred for this role
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, employees, and volunteers
  • Strong initiative and self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in using information technology, including MS Office
