About Our Mental Health Team

At our mental health service, we provide assessment, support, education, and training to individuals with complex neurodevelopmental conditions and co-occurring mental health disorders.

The IDD mental health team is a new, community-based mental health service. We are a close-knit team that provides expert guidance and supervision to ensure best practice in our field.

We are seeking an experienced Psychologist or Neuropsychologist to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape service delivery, establish team processes, and refine referral pathways.

You will contribute to leading service improvements, education, training, and research initiatives, ensuring a strong foundation for future growth in this specialised field.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Apply expert knowledge and evidence-based clinical management principles of cognitive, developmental, neurological, psychiatric, and sensory disabilities for consumers across the lifespan.
  2. Deliver senior-level psychological or neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and brief intervention/positive behaviour support planning.
  3. Provide expert guidance to service planning and lead the implementation of evidence-based reviews to design best practice.
  4. Contribute to clinical governance and professional competence by providing senior-level training and supervision.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A tertiary degree in Psychology
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Driver's Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or the ability to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees
