Wellbeing Mental Health Practitioner

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking wellbeing mental health practitioners to join our team in Brisbane. As part of the Queensland Government's Student Wellbeing Package, we aim to increase the number of wellbeing professionals working across Queensland to ensure every state school student has access to support for their wellbeing at school.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people and improve their educational and personal futures. We offer a unique and rewarding setting with flexible work schedules and a growing workforce of experienced wellbeing professionals.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, thrive in a varied role and environment, enjoy working with children adolescents and adults holistically, and have knowledge of mental health concerns and how they may impact students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helping students learn healthy ways to manage their mental health concerns
  • Working with school staff to identify and practice suitable strategies for the classroom and wider school community
  • Connecting students and families with support services resources in the community
  • Leading teams strategizing and developing future scope for the project

About You:

You will be passionate about improving the lives of children and believe in the importance of equity and non-pathologizing those in need.

Coming from an appropriate clinical or educational setting you will have expertise in the delivery of child-focused interventions ability to work within frameworks systems and structures and possess current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)/Australia Association of Social Workers (AASW).

When working in regulated employment you must have a current Working with Children Clearance blue card issued by Blue Card Services.

Mandatory Requirements:
