Renewable Energy and HV Design Expert

This senior leadership position is a key opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to drive the success of industrial scale solar and BESS projects.
About the RoleWe are seeking an exceptional individual with a strong background in renewable energy solutions, including PV design & engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing high-performing multidisciplinary teams and comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop HV design packages, ensuring alignment with project specifications and integration requirements;
- Adhere to relevant Australian Standards and industry practices for HV systems, ensuring regulatory compliance;
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute engineering strategy, identifying new project opportunities and technological advancements;
- Provide guidance on emerging technologies, offer technical expertise to teams, and ensure the feasibility and sustainability of engineering solutions;
- Work closely with colleagues to understand needs and provide effective engineering solutions, while also building and maintaining relationships with external partners, suppliers, and clients;
- Manage consultant relationships and scopes to deliver design, reports, and reviews of engineering and commissioning work streams.
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience;
- Experience in managing a high-performing multidisciplinary team;
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards;
- Experience in renewable energy solutions, including in PV design & engineering;
- Familiarity with NEM grid connection requirements including the National Electricity Rules and relevant AEMO / NSP requirements;
- Expertise in generating electrical, civil, geospatial, and mechanical drafting and engineering, with specific experience in new HV grid connections;
- Familiarity with Australian/New Zealand standards for electrical systems and competence in industry-standard power systems and renewable energy software;
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, PSCAD, ETAP).
