Leadership Opportunity in Taxation Management

The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring the department's corporate taxation responsibilities are met, in compliance with legislative requirements.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a framework to manage corporate taxation responsibilities
  • Lead high-quality reviews and analyses of complex taxation matters
  • Provide specialist advice and input into policy research, analysis, and drafting related to taxation
  • Contribute to ministerial correspondence and briefings on taxation matters for senior management
  • Manage a small team responsible for finance and taxation
  • Offer expert guidance to stakeholders on the implications of taxation legislation changes
  • E nsure effective compliance with corporate tax responsibilities
  • Enhance knowledge and develop capabilities in relation to taxation matters
About the Role

This opportunity involves leading activities related to the National Tax Equivalents Regime (NTER) and working closely with other teams to deliver business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex projects, developing policies, and providing strategic advice to stakeholders.

A strong network of relationships with internal and external stakeholders would be highly valued in this position.

Key Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in Australian taxation legislation
  • Sound understanding of the Financial Accountability Act 2009, Financial and Performance Management Standard 2019, and relevant accounting standards
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
