Job Title: Oncology PharmacistOverview of the Role

At a cancer care centre, we seek a part-time Oncology Pharmacist to join our multidisciplinary team. This position involves assisting with a rapidly growing and developing service, focusing on providing high-quality pharmacy services to patients undergoing cancer treatment.

This role will be assessed as a Grade 2 or 3 oncology pharmacist and reports directly to the Chief Pharmacist.

Responsibilities
  • Clinically review patients' oncology protocols for accuracy and compliance
  • Dispense medications in accordance with PBS regulations and facility policies
  • Complete medication reconciliation processes for patients receiving chemotherapy
  • Provide patient education and counselling on their treatments and medications
  • Assist in coordinating clinical trials and compassionate access programs for cancer patients
  • Actively participate in research and quality assurance activities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with oncologists to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or higher qualification
  • Current registration with AHPRA and the Pharmacy Board of Australia
  • Successful applicants must have professional indemnity insurance
  • Proof of vaccination record for healthcare workers is mandatory

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Oncology/hospital pharmacy experience is preferred
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrable complex problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential
