Pharmacist Role in Oncology

We are seeking a part-time Oncology Pharmacist to join our team. This role presents an opportunity to assist with a rapidly growing and developing service, working in a collaborative environment with the primary purpose to provide high-quality Pharmacy services to cancer care patients, whilst specializing in expanding Clinical Trials.

This role reports to the Chief Pharmacist and will be assessed as a Grade 2 or 3 Oncology Pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinically review patients and their Oncology protocols
  • Dispense medications according to PBS regulations
  • Complete Medication reconciliation processes
  • Provide education and counseling to patients
  • Assist in coordinating clinical trials and compassionate access programs
  • Active member in research and clinical trials
  • Actively involved in our Oncology AMS program
  • Attend Site Selection Visits (SSVs) and Site Initiation Visits (SIVs)
  • Read, understand, review, and adhere to clinical trial protocols relating to investigational product compounding, accountability, standard operating procedures, and reporting of the Pharmacy's role in clinical trials
  • Contribute to quality assurance activities
  • Work closely with oncologists to develop and maintain key relationships
  • Compound aseptic cytotoxic and non-cytotoxic products in a pharmaceutical isolator
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or higher
  • Successful applicants must be registered to work in Australia
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • Current registration as a Registered Pharmacist with AHPRA and the Pharmacy Board of Australia
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Proof of Vaccination Record for Healthcare Workers
