Job Title: Welding Quality Coordinator

We are seeking a Welding Quality Coordinator to oversee all internal welding processes and procedures, ensuring they meet production standards.

Job Summary:

This role involves coordinating the implementation of quality control measures, monitoring operations, inspecting products, and preparing quality records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14731, AS 5131, and ISO 3834 standards by implementing robust quality control protocols.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor operations and ensure adherence to production standards.
  • Inspect, test, or measure dimensions of materials or products to verify quality and integrity.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports for inspection and test data, highlighting areas for improvement.
  • Perform visual inspections on welded products and structures to identify defects or anomalies.
  • Record the results of quality and welding inspections, providing actionable insights for process improvements.
  • Issue relevant Quality Records when necessary, documenting key findings and recommendations.
  • Assist with the preparation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring comprehensive coverage of all quality control aspects.
  • Verify parent material against documentation and markings, validating authenticity and accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Cert 10 or AS 2214 Certificate is mandatory for this position.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in welding and steel fabrication, with a strong background in quality control.
  • Qualification in NDT Level II according to ISO 9712 or CSWIP 3.1 or IWE/IWT/IWS is an advantage for this role.
  • Current valid Driver's licence is required for site visits and travel.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain welding and quality documents.
  • Self-motivated with good fault-finding, troubleshooting & problem-solving skills, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, with experience using productivity software.
  • Strong focus on safety in the workplace, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
