About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse/Midwife Consultant to join our team in the Substance Use in Parenting and Pregnancy Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and supportive team, providing high-quality care to pregnant women with substance use issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical care to pregnant women with substance use issues, including assessment, treatment, and case management.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Conduct intake assessments and provide treatment services for pregnant women with current or recent substance use.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and coordination.
Requirements
  • Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with at least 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience.
  • Approved post-registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed.
  • Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe, compassionate, and quality care that is culturally responsive.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement in the workplace.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
