Science Laboratory Assistant Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Science Laboratory Technician to fill this key role within our organization.

The ideal candidate will provide high-level support for classroom activities, including working independently in a school science lab, coordinating the use of scientific equipment and chemicals, and offering assistance to teaching staff during practical sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional support for classroom activities
  • Work unsupervised in a school science lab
  • Coordinate the use of scientific equipment and chemicals
  • Offer in-class support to teaching staff during practical activities
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Well-developed laboratory skills to plan and select appropriate equipment, techniques, and organize work for students
  • Previous laboratory experience, preferably in a school environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with staff and students
  • Qualifications in Laboratory Techniques, Technology, or Services, or equivalent knowledge, qualifications, and experience are highly valued

Eligibility criteria include holding a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement, being eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment, and demonstrating a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Successful applicants will undergo requisite Working With Children (WWC) pre-employment screening, in accordance with legislation, prior to appointment.
