We're seeking a skilled Housekeeping Team Lead to join our dedicated team at multiple locations across Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining accurate morning reports showing occupied, vacant, check-outs, and out-of-order rooms for the Housekeeping Department
  • Assisting the Head of Department in productivity, motivation, and development of line Team Members within the Housekeeping department
  • Ensuring the productivity of the department within budgetary guidelines
  • Coordinating work activities on a shift-to-shift basis, adhering to department procedures and completing daily tasks according to company standards
  • Conducting daily departmental meetings to brief Team Members on activities and discuss shift-relevant issues
  • Providing a complete and accurate handover between shifts, communicating requirements for subsequent shifts
  • Preparing housekeeping rosters, ensuring an optimal number of Team Members within budgetary guidelines and understanding visa conditions and working rights
  • Participating in the recruitment and selection of Team Members for the department when required
  • Organizing skill training for housekeeping team members in conjunction with Talent and Culture
  • Implementing strategies to increase productivity and morale within the department in collaboration with the Head of Department
  • Communicating with all departments to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Preparing accurate reports as required by the Head of Department
  • Conducting regular checks of property areas to ensure facilities are cleaned and maintained according to Work Health and Safety regulations
  • Controlling housekeeping inventory, including chemicals, linen, and supplies
  • Controlling housekeeping team member uniforms, ensuring adequate supplies are available
  • Reacting professionally to guest complaints, ensuring follow-up and informing the Executive Housekeeper
  • Recommending strategies to improve Guest comfort/experience
  • Daily checking and maintaining team members' grooming standards
  • Liaising with Front Office Manager and Maintenance Manager/department for quick room changes
  • Liaising with outside contractors regarding laundry and cleaning material services in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper
  • Participating in scheduled training and development programs to improve self and department standards

As our next Housekeeping Team Lead, you'll need:

  • Exceptional attention to detail with previous Housekeeping leadership experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
  • A quick thinker who can handle unexpected situations to ensure a smooth day
  • Excellent grooming and presentation skills
  • A leader who's also a team player, willing to be hands-on to see their team succeed

The estimated hourly rate for this position is $27.83, equivalent to a base salary of $54,992.08-$60,000 per annum, based on applicable Hospitality Industry General Award working days and penalties.
