To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Degree in commerce, accounting or equivalent.
  • Previous accounting experience in public practice, finance or a related field.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and understanding of accounting procedures.
  • CA/CPA qualification or working towards it.
  • Knowledge of Australian income tax, GST, FBT, with a strong compliance focus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Preparing financial statements, tax returns and BAS for various clients.
  • Building and maintaining positive client and colleague relationships.
  • Researching and advising on tax issues.
  • Mentoring junior staff and managing workflow.
  • Liaising with clients and external agencies.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate job completion.
  • Identifying opportunities for value-added services.
