Job Description

As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you will make a real difference in the lives of children and young people living in out-of-home care.

You will work with some of Australia's best youth service providers, every day granting you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives in a nurturing and safe environment.

Our rosters are done in advance, providing stability in a casual environment. We also have emergency and ad hoc shifts available each week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe and supportive home environment for at-risk youth.
  • Empower daily living skills by assisting with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
  • Facilitate transportation to ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
  • Promote growth by encouraging skill development and socialization within the local community.
  • Manage health needs by administering medications and maintaining accurate reporting.
  • Deliver trauma-informed care by supporting youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.

What You Need:

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar qualification.

You will also require an Australian Driver's License (P2 or higher), NSW Working with Children Check, Current First Aid & CPR certificate, Covid-19 vaccination certificate, and the ability to work a mixture of day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
