Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and support to businesses to help them succeed in international markets.
  • Analyse export opportunities, identify niche markets worldwide, and develop strategies to deliver state-wide trade and investment priorities.
  • Foster effective relationships with stakeholders in Queensland and internationally to build long-term growth commitments.
  • Represent Queensland at inter-departmental committees, national forums, and industry gatherings to identify investment and export opportunities.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate strategic priorities and support these with purposeful actions.
  • Extensive experience in a trade and investment related role, with the ability to identify investment and export opportunities for Queensland.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and implement change in a client-facing environment.
  • High-level analytical skills and business acumen to manage complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain resilience in high-pressure environments with competing priorities.
