Project Manager for Culturally Safe Cancer Care Initiatives

Western NSW Local Health District is seeking a passionate and experienced Project Manager to lead a new initiative aimed at improving culturally safe cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across our region.
This part-time position, funded for 2.5 years through grant funding, will play a key role in designing, implementing, and evaluating strategies that enhance access, experience, and outcomes for patients and families.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, community engagement, or cancer care, and be committed to health equity.
About the RoleThe Project Manager will work closely with Aboriginal communities, health professionals, and cancer services to create lasting change in how care is delivered.
They will design, implement, and evaluate strategies to enhance access, experience, and outcomes for patients and families, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
The role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and contribute to creating a safer and more equitable healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and evaluate strategies to enhance access, experience, and outcomes for patients and families
- Collaborate closely with Aboriginal communities, health professionals, and cancer services to achieve desired outcomes
- Work with stakeholders to identify and address barriers to culturally safe cancer care
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including Aboriginal communities, health professionals, and cancer services
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in project management, community engagement, or cancer care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to health equity and culturally safe cancer care
