Telecommunications Rigger

Due to an increased workload, Ventia has multiple permanent positions available for experienced Telecommunication Riggers to join our Wireless Network team. This role requires you to travel, complete regular overtime, and be away from home for extended periods of time.

In this role, you will be responsible for upgrading and modifying existing wireless telecommunication sites, including Mobile, Fixed Wireless, and Broadcast. Your duties will also include:

1. Working at heights, installing mobile/broadcast antenna systems, RRU, feeders, Microwave Link install and panning.
2. Installing/Erecting steelwork, monopoles, towers, etc. as required on both Greenfield and Co-Lo sites.
3. Installing and testing hybrid cables.
4. PIM testing, sweep testing, distance to fault, terminating feeders, bird-proofing, and waterproofing connectors.
5. Reading/interpreting construction and As-built drawings and completing works to specification and standards.
6. Installing and maintaining antenna and feeder cables on monopoles and towers.

As a Telecommunication Rigger, you will be responsible for:

• Upgrading and modifying existing wireless telecommunication sites.
• Installing and testing hybrid cables.
• Performing PIM testing, sweep testing, distance to fault, terminating feeders, bird-proofing, and waterproofing connectors.
• Reading and interpreting construction and As-built drawings.
• Installing and maintaining antenna and feeder cables.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience as a telecommunication rigger.
• Experience with NBN wireless, Optus, TPG (desirable).
• A current intermediate or advanced rigging ticket.
• The ability to work with EWP and cranes.
• Working at heights and Perform Tower Rescue certified.
• RadHaz / EME Awareness.
