Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

This role is responsible for overseeing the kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food and services are delivered to patients and customers.

  • The successful candidate will supervise a team of kitchen caregivers to maintain exceptional service standards and cleanliness.
  • Support the Executive Chef in developing a culture of service excellence, sustainable patient satisfaction, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure that kitchen staff complete assigned tasks on time and meet quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct performance reviews of subordinates to identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage kitchen staff rosters and annual leave calendars to ensure effective service levels.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to implement effective recruitment, induction, and ongoing training programs.
  • Address performance issues and escalate them to the Executive Chef, Hotel Services Manager, and Workforce Lead as necessary.
  • Support the Executive Chef and Hotel Services Manager in leading the catering team through change management.
  • Interpret patient meal tray cards for meal service and ensure suitable meals for patients with allergies and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain relevant food safety documentation, compliance codes, and legislative requirements.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in supervising a catering team.
  • Able to assist in staff training programs, roster planning, and leave management.
  • Sound knowledge of hygiene regulations and manual handling procedures.
  • Prioritize tasks, make decisions, and guide the team effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • Well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
