Six Degrees Executive is a reputable recruitment agency based in the CBD, seeking an experienced Senior Finance Assistant to support their finance team.

Estimated salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per annum.

About the role

This is a 12-month full-time contract role with the opportunity to be extended up to 14 months. The successful candidate will work three days from the office and two days remotely. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing manual journal entries and assisting with basic account reconciliations while addressing queries from finance business partners.
  • Supporting the accountant with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.
  • Handling the preparation of manual invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Performing accounting activities under supervision, following organisational policies and reporting standards.
  • Reconciling accounts, posting journal entries, and ensuring the general ledger remains accurate.
  • Compiling financial data to assist senior accountants in generating reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and regulatory filings.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in financial reporting and accounting. Advanced Excel skills are essential, as is SAP knowledge/experience. A high level of attention to detail, along with proven quality and accuracy of work, is also required.

The successful candidate will be a proactive researcher, analyst, and problem-solver with strong communication skills, both written and verbal. They will also demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
