About the Role

We are seeking experienced Academics or Clinicians to join our team as Academic Sessionals in the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Program.

As an Academic Sessional, you will make a substantial contribution to the teaching program, particularly at the undergraduate level. Your responsibilities will include preparation and coordination of tutorials and workshops, consultation with students, assessment marking, and attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.

The primary purpose of an Academic Sessional is to successfully run and manage their assigned tutorials or workshops within the discipline area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct lectures/theoretical tutorials and/or workshops in consultation with the Discipline Lead, preparing a brief lesson plan in line with the weekly learning objectives and facilitating informed group discussions relating to the content.
  • Consultation with students in relation to readings, weekly topics, and assessment.
  • Marking and providing feedback relating to assessment activities as set out by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
  • Attendance at meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
  • Manage short-term extension requests in line with University policy.
  • Other duties as identified by the line manager or the National Deputy Head of School.
About You
  • We are looking for academic sessional staff with subject matter expertise in one or more of the following occupational therapy practice areas:
    • Inpatient or Community Rehabilitation (Physical)
    • Aged Care
    • Acute Inpatient Physical eg Medical/ Neurology/ Orthopaedics/ Cancer/ Hand Therapy
    • Mental Health
    • Disability Services eg NDIS
    • Paediatrics/ School System
Salary and Benefits

This role offers an estimated salary of AU$80,000 - AU$120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will have access to a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements, ongoing learning and professional development opportunities, and a friendly and collaborative work environment.
