Defence Contract Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to support a multi-year Defence program delivering an enterprise Health Knowledge Management (HKM) System to improve clinical decision-making for the Australian Defence Force. As a Defence Contract Specialist, you will ensure supplier performance aligns with contract requirements, quality standards, and program timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and verify supplier capabilities, performance, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Manage supplier communication, issue escalation, and status reporting to Program leadership.
  • Oversee supplier cost, schedule, technical, and quality baselines, identifying risks and performance gaps.
  • Support subcontract changes and provide recommendations on supplier contract modifications.
  • Lead planning and execution of the Australian Industrial Capability Plan, including reporting and Local Industry Activity outcomes.
  • Engage with Australian industry to identify, assess, and advocate for local suppliers and innovation opportunities throughout the program lifecycle.

You will work closely with Programme stakeholders to integrate supplier efforts and deliver the HKM System. Using your Defence experience, you will mentor suppliers to operate effectively within Defence frameworks and drive successful programme outcomes.

This role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, solid technical understanding, and knowledge of contracting principles. You must also be an Australian Citizen and hold a Baseline security clearance.
