Job Overview

A 2-year Physiotherapy Development Program for New Graduates offers a chance to gain valuable experience in an acute hospital setting.

The program consists of 8 rotations through core physiotherapy areas, with a 3-month secondment in the first and second year to a different location. Accommodation and travel time are provided during the secondment period.

About the Role

This role is suitable for 2026 First Year Graduates (FYG) looking to join a dynamic team at John Hunter Hospital (JHH). The successful graduates will be offered a contract consisting of three months per rotation across a broad range of clinical areas.

There will be opportunities for further employment at JHH for staff wishing to remain on after the 2-year contract.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient-centred physiotherapy services.
  • Contribute to a supportive team environment and participate in scheduled rotations and secondments.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary collaboration across clinical areas and sites.
Requirements
  • Hold recognised qualifications for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and general registration via AHPRA.
  • Have a strong undergraduate academic record with current academic transcript as part of the application.
Eligibility & Visa
  • Be an Australian Citizen, permanent resident or have a visa allowing work in Australia.
