Aboriginal Children and Family Advocate

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Case Manager. This role involves working closely with Aboriginal children and families, government agencies, and sector partners to reduce the over-representation of Aboriginal children in care and contact with the Child Protection system.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments, including risk evaluations, and develop, implement, and review plans for children and young people.
- Prepare accurate and concise documents and reports (case notes, incident reports, court reports) that cater to diverse audience needs.
- Collaborate with other service providers and stakeholders, such as police and courts, to achieve positive outcomes.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, demonstrating resilience and commitment to self-care and team support.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to our organization's vision and purpose.
- Familiarity with Aboriginal cultures and societies, with ongoing knowledge of issues impacting Aboriginal communities.
- Mandatory Social Work degree or similar welfare/behavioral degree, or Diploma of Community Services with a focus on human behavior, family dynamics, and/or trauma.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and negotiate with Aboriginal children and families, utilizing culturally appropriate interpersonal skills.
