Occupational Therapist Role

The Mental Health team at Gosford Hospital seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our newly established outpatient service.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of mental health care, delivering timely and targeted support to individuals in crisis.

As an Occupational Therapist Level 3, you will provide expert, evidence-based occupational therapy, promoting recovery and wellbeing for our clients.

You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic, integrated, and high-quality care, while contributing to quality improvement projects and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert, evidence-based occupational therapy to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
  • Provide timely and person-centred interventions that promote recovery and wellbeing.
  • Play a key leadership role within the team by offering clinical supervision, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Engage with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of holistic, integrated, and high-quality care.
  • Lead and contribute to quality improvement projects and research initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registration as an OT with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency.
  • High level of broad generalist and/or specialist knowledge within OT.
  • Passionate about delivering person-centred, evidence-based care to individuals in crisis.
  • Unencumbered driver's license and ability to travel across the District and to other external sites as required.
  • Confident in managing complex cases using advanced clinical reasoning and independent judgment.
  • Committed to continuous improvement through quality initiatives and research involvement.
