Water Feature Technician Role

This critical role plays a pivotal part in delivering water management services to Melbourne's open space network.

As a key member of the Water Management Team, you will have high levels of autonomy and self-management, responsible for maintaining all water assets to the highest standard, exceeding contract expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining water features, fountains, and ponds to ensure they are free from litter, leaves, and debris on a daily basis
  • Regularly testing and chemically dosing water to maintain quality and chemical balance
  • Undertaking major cleans and repairs of water features on a scheduled basis or as required
  • Servicing and maintaining associated assets including UV lamps, aerators, filters, and pumps
  • Assisting in all areas of the Water Team as needed, including plumbing, irrigation, and storm water
  • Accurately keeping required records and reporting all issues, defects, and repairs promptly

Requirements include:

  • Current driver's license
  • Trade certificate in Plumbing, Water Chemistry, or equivalent
  • Experience maintaining water features, fountains, or similar assets
  • Skills in irrigation system maintenance
  • Ability to recognize water quality issues
  • OHS&E awareness
