Job Title:Project Delivery Specialist

 

Job Description:

SMEC is a leading global engineering consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering complex rail projects. We are seeking an experienced Project Delivery Specialist to join our Sydney team and play a key role in the success of our high-priority projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving project delivery, managing stakeholder relationships, and providing leadership to cross-functional teams. They will also be responsible for sourcing and developing business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and ensuring commercial outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of nationally significant projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project delivery and governance of large, complex projects to achieve reliable performance and commercial outcomes.
  • Source, build, and maintain strong client relationships through successful project delivery and targeted activities.
  • Provide leadership and collaborate with team members, stakeholders, and contributors to ensure quality, timeliness, and coordination of project deliverables.
  • Contribute to commercial success by driving business development activities and playing a key role in negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Manage and lead a team of direct reports to ensure optimal performance, resourcing, retention, and professional development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field.
  • 15-20 years of relevant professional experience in project management and delivery, preferably in the rail industry.
  • Significant experience in coordinating, designing, and delivering complex projects of national significance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate high-performing teams.
