About the Opportunity

As the Lead Planning Engineer - Asset Sustainability, you will play a critical role in leading, coordinating, and overseeing planning and design for asset sustainability projects, including renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and improvements. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality design and project management documents for Sustaining Capital projects, ensuring a thorough and effective management of transition to the Project Delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee asset sustainability engineers, guiding their efforts on Sustaining Capital projects, managing team resources effectively, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring professional growth and compliance.
  • Coordinate and oversee planning and design for capital projects, including asset renewals, refurbishments, augmentations, and improvements that align with objectives and deliver fit-for-purpose projects.
  • Review and oversee consultant deliverables to ensure they efficiently address key issues, providing solutions that align with project goals and are completed within the agreed time and budget.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders throughout the assessment and evaluation phase of the project management lifecycle, facilitating agreement on the optimum solution, adeptly managing differences of opinion, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Lead the entire design process stages for asset renewals, improvements, and expansions, ensuring project objectives are met.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Chemical or Process or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Current active RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position or working towards RPEQ registration and able to obtain within 12 months of commencing employment.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, asset management, infrastructure planning, or related field.
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring teams, including managing resources and performance.
  • Proven track record in planning and evaluating complex infrastructure projects, producing high-quality planning reports, design deliverables, or business cases.

This position offers a salary range of $144,587 - $156,835 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is a permanent full-time role. Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements.
