Accounting Operations Manager

The Impact You'll Make

As an accounting operations manager, you will combine leadership and hands-on operation to drive team performance and deliver high-quality accounting, compliance, and reporting across multiple clients. Your role will include:

  • Client Management: Be the trusted first point of contact, building strong relationships and ensuring clients' accounting runs seamlessly.
  • Solution Design: Implement best-practice accounting technology and workflows that drive efficiency and clarity.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor, coach, and grow your team of accountants (onshore & offshore), ensuring accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure high-quality accounting, compliance, and reporting across multiple clients, using platforms like Xero and MYOB.

What You'll Bring

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 6+ years' accounting experience across multiple clients, ideally in public practice.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience – confident delegating and coaching others.
  • Ability to oversee and review client accounts with accuracy and insight.
  • Strong understanding of accounting software (Xero, MYOB) and workflow tools.
  • Tech-savvy with a mindset for process improvement and system optimisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication – able to explain technical matters in plain English.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to onboard new clients.
