Green Space Maintenance Technician

As a Green Space Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for working alongside a team to maintain and enhance green spaces across various council-controlled roadsides and open spaces.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in their work.

  • Operate Mowing Equipment Safely and Efficiently:
  • Maintain and perform regular inspections on mowing equipment
  • Ensure lawns and green spaces are maintained to a high standard
  • Complete service requests as required
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing Regular Inspections: Maintain and perform regular inspections on mowing equipment to ensure they are in good working order
  • Ensuring High-Quality Work: Ensure lawns and green spaces are maintained to a high standard by completing tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Completing Service Requests: Complete service requests as required by ensuring timely and efficient completion of tasks
  • Following Safety Protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Required Skills and Qualifications

Requirements for this role include:

  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in zero-turn mowing and brush cutting of open spaces
  • Valid MR Manual Driver's Licence: Possess a valid MR manual driver's licence (HR highly regarded)
  • White Card: Hold a White Card
  • Ability to Follow Instructions: Demonstrate an ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team and/or individually
  • Punctuality and Reliability: Be punctual and reliable, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Willingness to Work Outdoors: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions ranging from hot summer days to cooler winter months
  • Strong Work Ethic: Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks efficiently and to the highest standards
