Qualifications & Experience

  1. A minimum of 1 year's post-admission experience in a general practice firm is required.

  2. Experience in Local Court criminal appearances, including mentions, bail applications, and short hearings, is highly desirable.

  3. Conveyancing or Family Law experience is preferred.

  4. Excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills, and the ability to handle competing priorities are essential.

  5. Candidates must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  6. Previous experience in Court attendances across the Supreme Court, Federal Circuit, and Family Courts, as well as the Local Court, will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Represent clients in Local Court criminal proceedings, including mentions, directions, bail, and short hearings.

  2. Prepare court documents, affidavits, and submissions.

  3. Conduct thorough legal research.

  4. Collaborate with barristers on case management and strategy.

  5. Interact with clients to provide guidance on real-life legal situations.

  6. Attend Court hearings in various jurisdictions.

  7. Review and prepare complex security documents, deeds of guarantee, loan agreements, shareholder agreements, and lease documents.

  8. Mentor and guide interns and clerks to ensure their development and growth within the firm.
