  • This role involves leading and managing a team to ensure the effective planning, execution, and delivery of major construction and maintenance projects within the water and wastewater distribution systems.
  • The Major Construction Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the team, ensuring high levels of customer service, workplace safety, and environmental protection.
  • Key responsibilities include supervising and supporting a team to achieve optimal performance, exhibiting leadership behaviours, supporting continuous improvement, undertaking project planning, providing advice on major sewer repairs, and promoting staff involvement in team meetings.
  • The successful candidate will have a Certificate IV in Water Industry or relevant trade qualifications, a Class C Driver's Licence, current NSW SafeWork First Aid Certificate, National WHS Construction Card, and other essential qualifications and licences.
  • They will also possess supervisory experience, recent relevant experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure work, and competent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project or similar software.
  • Additional requirements include the ability to read and understand service standards and project documentation, write routine correspondence and reports, provide effective customer service, follow defined WHS policies and procedures, and commit to relevant workplace training and working on call.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Water Industry (Civil Engineering or Water/Wastewater Engineering) or relevant trade qualifications
  • Class C Driver's Licence
  • Current NSW SafeWork First Aid Certificate
  • National WHS Construction Card (SafeWork)
  • Current NSW SafeWork Confined Spaces Entry Certificate
  • Asbestos Licence for removal of > 10 sq meters
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship or authority to work in Australia (visa)
  • Supervisory experience (including the ability to lead and promote teamwork)
  • Recent relevant experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure work
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project or similar software
  • Ability to read and understand service standards and project documentation
  • Ability to write routine correspondence and reports
  • Ability to provide effective customer service
  • Ability to follow defined WHS policies and procedures
  • Commitment to relevant workplace training
  • Willngness to work on call
