Life Story Recorder

We are seeking volunteers to help record the stories, memories and messages of our community clients for their loved ones.

This is a rewarding opportunity to spend time with elderly clients and use your listening and writing skills to capture their life stories.

You will be part of a team that helps create lasting gifts for families and friends.

The transcription and editing process can occur in the evenings, while the face-to-face interview will occur on a weekday between 9am-4pm for one hour.

Please note that you will need to have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, 50 words per minute typing skills, ability to work independently and problem solve, own car to drive to the home of the client, and willingness to learn new technology and software.

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about helping others and want to make a difference in their lives.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a fulfilling experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated.
