Clinical Social Work Position at Mansfield District Hospital

This is a fixed term opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Social Worker. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate professional to provide Counselling services for Community Health Clients, Inpatients, Aged Care residents and community education programs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering clinical social work services to clients, families, and community groups
  • Providing care and counselling across inpatient, outpatient, aged care, and community programs
  • Promoting collaborative, person-centered care to support positive health outcomes
  • Completing assessments and maintaining accurate clinical records
  • Contributing to service planning, budgeting, and meeting strategic goals
  • Developing and managing work plans to ensure effective service delivery
  • Participating in ongoing professional development
  • Providing leadership aligned with organisational values
  • Managing Emergency Relief services
  • Developing and running support groups in aged care and the community
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for AASW registration
  • Experience in hospital, community, or primary health care settings
  • Ability to manage complex clients and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication, time management, and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, and organisational values
  • Current Working with Children Check and evidence of required flu vaccination
