Job Description

This role involves developing specific test procedures and inspection plans, providing expertise on fault finding, commissioning electrical rotating machines, and conducting quality assurance inspections.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement efficient test procedures and inspection plans to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  2. Provide expert guidance on electrical/mechanical testing results, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions.
  3. Commission and test electrical rotating machines and their accessories, ensuring they meet strict safety and quality standards.
  4. Conduct quality assurance inspections for overhauled equipment, verifying compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  5. Troubleshoot complex issues with electro-mechanical rotating machines, working closely with customers and internal teams to resolve problems efficiently.
  6. Analyze root causes of equipment failures, proposing repair and upgrade recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  7. Prepare technical reports, proposals, and cost estimates, supporting business development and project implementation.
  8. Collaborate with Service Centres to plan and execute asset maintenance projects, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  9. Support the Quality team in opening and closing non-conformance reports (NCRs), contributing to process improvement and continuous learning.
  10. Liaise with customers regarding estimation and design, providing expert advice and guidance to meet their needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with Professional Engineering Registration.
  • 5+ years of technical experience in electrical rotating equipment services (Generators, HV Motors, etc.).
  • Strong communication and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, identifying and addressing systemic issues.
  • A technical background in engineering, preferably in power generation or heavy industry.
  • Machine diagnostics skills, including electrical testing and vibration analysis, are highly desirable.
