Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in the organization by providing expert support in sourcing and contract management activities.

This position involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, conducting market research, assisting with specification development, facilitating tender processes, and evaluating bids. The Procurement Specialist ensures that all procurement activities adhere to probity and ethical standards while striving to achieve the best value for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop procurement strategies
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts
  • Assist with specification development and facilitate tender processes
  • Evaluate bids and ensure compliance with probity and ethical standards
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within a similar sector
  • Basic understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proficiency in using procurement systems such as iProc (Oracle) or similar platforms
  • High level of accuracy and ability to maintain meticulous records and documentation
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (desirable)
