Chief Risk and Compliance Officer

The Chief Risk and Compliance Officer is a key senior management position within Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation, reporting directly to the General Manager of Human Resources. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's risk management, safety, and compliance programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement risk management, safety, and compliance strategies to ensure the organization's operations are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead and manage a team of risk and compliance professionals to ensure effective implementation of risk management, safety, and compliance programs.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks to the organization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and external partners.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management and the Board on risk management, safety, and compliance matters.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, or a related field. A master's degree and/or relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional) is preferred.
- Proven experience in risk, safety, and compliance management at a senior level, preferably within the healthcare sector, with a strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Proven leadership experience, including the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- A commitment to the principles of Aboriginal community control and a demonstrated understanding of the social, political, and economic issues affecting Aboriginal people in Central Australia.
