Job Title: Senior Library Officer

Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Senior Library Officer to lead our library services team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of library services and programs across multiple branches.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve customer service and engagement.
  • Analyze and report on library functions and issues to inform decision-making.
  • Manage local history and heritage collections, activities, and programs.
  • Plan and implement promotional and marketing activities to promote library services.
  • Support relationships with key stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of library functions, programs, and services.
  • Provide accurate information and reference assistance to customers.
  • Conduct outreach sessions and community engagement activities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Diploma in Library and Information Services or related qualification and experience.
  • Queensland Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
  • Queensland C class provisional driver's licence.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and cooperatively in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction to staff and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work weekends and travel to all library locations as required.
